4a. Syncing Zotero to the Cloud

  1. In Firefox, log into Zotero using the blue “Log In” text, then your username and password.
  2. In the top right hand corner of the Firefox tool bar, click on the “Z”. The Zotero tool should open in the lower third of the screen.
  3. Click on the wheel icon on the Zotero tool bar.
  4. Click on the word “Preferences” in the drop down menu.
  5. After the pop up window opens, click on the SYNC icon in the window’s tool bar.
  6. Type in your username and password.
  7. Check ALL the boxes.
  8. Click OK.

4b. Choosing a Citation Style (MLA) or (APA)

  1. In Firefox, log into Zotero using the blue “Log In” text, then your username and password.
  2. In the top right hand corner of the Firefox tool bar, click on the “Z”. The Zotero tool should open in the lower third of the screen.
  3. Click on the wheel icon on the Zotero tool bar.
  4. Click on the word “Preferences” in the drop down menu.
  5. After the pop up window opens, click on the CITE icon in the window’s tool bar.
  6. Click on the “Styles” tab in the window.
  7. Scroll down until you see “Modern Language Association 7th Edition” (MLA) or (APA) and then highlight the text of the style required for your assignment.
  8. Under the Citation Options, check the box.
  9. Click OK.
